Epilogue — How Epic Was Your Adventure?

Against monsters, mountains, petty bureaucracy, questionable navigation, and Malovar the Extremely Unpleasant, your five heroes have somehow reached the end of their adventure.

The Crown of Stars has been recovered. Probably. The kingdom is waiting to hear the tale of your heroic deeds.

71–72 Points — A Legend for the Ages

This is the adventure bards will sing about for centuries.

Malovar is defeated. The Crown is restored. The kingdom is saved. Your heroes return home to cheering crowds, royal honors, and several statues that make the Warrior look considerably taller than they actually are.

Future generations will assume much of the story was exaggerated, but for once, it wasn't.

68–70 Points — An Epic Adventure

Heroes were heroic. Villains were defeated. Important magical objects ended up roughly where they belonged. There were setbacks, certainly, but those are called character development when the story ends well. The kingdom celebrates your return and the Bard has already begun taking liberties with the details.

65–67 Points — A Respectable Fantasy Novel

You saved the kingdom.

Was it elegant? No.

Was it efficient? Also no.

But the Crown is back, Malovar has been dealt with, and most of the party still has the same number of limbs they started with.

Four stars. Would quest again.

62–64 Points — Technically an Epic

There was a quest. There were heroes. There was certainly peril. Whether these things occurred in the correct order is now a matter for historians.

The kingdom is safe, although several villages, one Baron, and a surprisingly angry dragon have submitted formal complaints.

59–61 Points — An Embarrassing Tavern Story

You did eventually return with the Crown. Unfortunately, people keep asking follow-up questions. Nobody agrees on what happened in the forest. Whitebridge would prefer you never return. The mountain incident remains under investigation, and there are conflicting reports about whether Blackspire was already on fire when you arrived.

Your drinks are free tonight.

Mostly because everyone wants to hear the story.

56–58 Points — The Quest That Shall Not Be Mentioned

The official royal history records that the Crown of Stars was recovered following “a series of unexpected complications.” This is technically true. The unofficial version contains considerably more screaming. Your party has been thanked for its service and politely asked to consider other professions. The kingdom has also announced that, henceforth, adventuring parties will require a permit.
